Magical Wooden Spoon Fairy Craft

Looking for a magical, fun craft activity? Using a simple wooden takeaway spoon, you can create charming little fairies perfect for imaginative play. My daughter loves these and I'm sure you're children will too. Let’s get started!

You'll need:

• Wooden Spoon (takeaway cutlery)

• Felt sheet

• Wool

• Card

• Glue

• Pens

• Scissors

How to:

1. Prepare the Fairy's Hair

Cut two pieces of wool about 15 cm long and set them aside.

Wrap wool around your hand until you have a thick enough bundle to cover the wide end of your spoon.

Carefully slide the wool loop off your hand and tie one of the pre-cut wool strings through the loop to secure it.

Use the second wool string to tie around one end of the loop, creating a cute bun. Feel free to experiment with different hairstyles!

Once you're happy with the hairstyle, glue it onto the spoon’s wide end, keeping the back free for the fairy’s face.

2. Draw the Fairy’s Face

Use pens to draw a sweet face on the back of the spoon. Add rosy cheeks for extra charm!

3. Make the Fairy’s Dress

Cut out a piece of felt in the shape of a partial circle (about one-third of a full circle). Trim a small circular notch at the tip to ensure a snug fit. Wrap the felt around the spoon, adjusting the size as needed.

Glue it in place to create the fairy’s dress.

4. Craft the Fairy’s Wings

Cut butterfly-shaped wings out of card.

Decorate the wings with patterns or glitter to add a magical touch.

Glue the wings onto the back of your fairy.

5. Add the Finishing Touches

Cut a small piece of wool and tie it into a bow.

Glue the bow onto the fairy’s dress for extra flair. Let everything dry completely.
